Grape

Fruit day! Let's eat fruit, everybody! It's healthy! :D (I don't like fruits, but what can I say... *sigh*)

If you want the vector of the grape, drop me a message at the comment section :D

Rotor Wing Model

I tried to make a rotor wing model of the wing of the mecha bird from transformer the movie. I failed, though, because the blades (spokes of the wheel) are not attached securely to the center at the bottom and they should have been wider. I will remake it if I have gotten the idea again. :)

Pineapple

Fruit business. :p

ACJC Sport Complex level 2

This is my most serious SketchUp design for now, but also my first few work in 3D. I did this in my first JC year as a Tech Council member. My job was actually only to build the model, without colouring it. I just uploaded it since I coloured it first to make it seen better in 3D Warehouse. The X(...)Xs are places where I was not supposed to draw, so I added the 3D text to indicate it is not blank.

These photos show the model that I was supposed to make. Only the model without colouring, and also leaving behind some details like stairs, interiors, and the details under the unique roof (the bleachers). You could also find some reverse faces in the model. To make things neater for warehouse, I coloured the model, fix the reverse faces and added 3D text for open structures that are missing (Badminton Hall and Stairs given by X(...)X). I also realised that the bleacher had no safety wall behind, so I added it.

How did I start making the model? First, we measure the building physically, since the sport complex is new and the floor plan is not available from the school's office. Below is the floor plan.

To make modelling easier, I took pictures of the building from several perspectives to get the roof design, the bleachers approximate design, the swimming pools and the rest of the building on second floor.

Then, next to the floor plan in SketchUp, I made a big square. That is the place where I made the structures, such as the long chairs, the roof model and the starting blocks on the swimming pool.

I used these pictures to guide me in modelling the sport complex level 2. Here are the images.

(Sorry for the messy arrangement. I am still new to making post with many pictures neat.)

Here is the up-close view of the 3D model.

Revolver Cylinder

I did this when I was really bored. Easy to make, just make a circle, then add the six holes by drawing 6 lines to the center as a guideline, draw small circle at the center, draw half circles at the sides using the same lines from the guideline, then you get this      ================>>>>>>>>

Delete unwanted faces, pull :D

Lingering on this world

I was dying from an unknown disease that took control of body parts, much like stroke, but progressing quickly in matters of minutes. I was one of the combatants of the disease, wearing protective coat and carrying an advance weaponry to kill don't-know-what. The combatants knew of my condition. We were passing a parking lot when suddenly I fell down and unable to go back up. I knew that this is it. I was smiling to my colleagues. They surrounded me like they want to see me off. Then I could not move my hands, and I lost my voice. In matter of minutes, what I had left was my consciousness. I could not even move my lips. I died, but my spirit lingered on. I could see my body rotting fast. None of those around could see my spirit. They left.

My spirit stayed on Earth for then. Only my circle of friends and my core family members could see me. Interestingly, I still could interact with worldly items, such as foods and computers. I played games with my friends and eat some cakes with my mom. I wondered, how would the food be seen by other people? Would they see the food floating, being chewed by nothing, or would they see the food stay on the table as I only ate the spirit of the food? Anyway, I spent the whole day with people closest to me. Then the night came.

I was very afraid of falling asleep, on the fear of passing on during my sleep or unable to open my eyes again. I resisted and resisted, yet things around me became very dark. A moment passed by, then I woke up. Frightened by what happened then, I looked around. Thanks, God, I was in my room and I haven't passed on. I had died so peacefully at this age of 20 and as long as I stayed on this world, everything would be fine. But how exactly did I end up in my room? There I was, seated on my bed, only to figure that those dying moments were not true after thinking for so long how I ended up on my bed. I was and am still alive. All those things I saw? All were in my dream, a bad dream, scarier than any nightmares I had.

Interior making in SketchUp

I found this link that is very interesting for interior decorating or just interior viewing.

Bullets

I just uploaded 2 bullet models.

Making bullets is not difficult. You only need to make the model in 2D, half of it. Then, use the "follow me" tool on the drawing to a circle which center is align to your bullet center. Done. You just need to specify the details of the bullets and its colour. I used the colours on default SketchUp. I also smoothened some edges on the second model above to give the feeling that the edge is round.

 These are the two base for the follow me command. The picture on the left is the one where I had copied the model and flipped the copy, where as the picture below is the one where I did not yet copy and flip.
========================================================================

The reason why I copied and flipped was that to make the point dull, as on the picture on the left above.

From <<==  to ==>>

I need to copy and flip then make a curve on the pointed edge. Another way to do it is to soften edge but it does not always work as I had tried it.

========================================================================

For the back of the bullet, there are two ways to make it. One is shown on the left, that is to make that part first before follow me command. The problem I faced was that it was difficult to judge the position to place the inserted faces as it may become too far or too near to the bullet's surface after the follow me command. The other way is just making circles on the back of the bullet after it has become solid, then use the push/pull command to make the picture below.

Taman Bunga Nusantara, Indonesia

These are photos taken in Taman Bunga Nusantara (National Flower Garden), puncak, Indonesia. A beautiful place. I didn't have good photos of the other sites, but there are artificial lake, birds, ducks, swans and also stages above lakes (not floating, though).
